Graduation of the CPSC Class of 2010

in

On July 16th at 4:00 in the afternoon, after several weeks of practice, our graduates, their teachers, and the families of the graduates gathered in the Senior Preschool yard for their graduation ceremony. Graduation clothes were donned, performance props were gathered, chairs were arranged . . . we were ready! The parents were seated and when all was ready, the graduates danced in to a jazzy piece of music to take their seats. The ceremony included comments from Rachel Samoff, our director, Kim Donaldson, our Assistant Director, the granting of diplomas, and a performance of nursery rhymes by the children.

It was a bitter sweet moment when CPSC officially acknowledges that these children, many of whom came through our doors as tiny babies, are now poised to launch themselves into the world of elementary school. We know they are ready with all the skills that an excellent preschool education can provide to succeed in their later schooling. Yet, of course it is sad to say goodbye. But we did it in style, thanks to the excellent work of our teachers, Eulene Granadosin, Alma DeLeon, Nahome Rivera, Zenaida Enriquez, Ozi Baidey, Clarivel Hernandez, and Deepti Katariwala who led the children through the ceremony.

After receiving their diplomas, the children posed with Rachel for their parents to snap a photo.

Kim smiles fondly as she comments on how ready these children are for the next phase of their education and development.

The children performed their nursery rhymes with gusto.

Proud parents divide their time between enjoyment and documenting the occasion.
